9 Amazing Blue Ridge Mountain Wedding Venues In and Around the Mountains

April 5, 2024

There is something special about getting married with sweeping views of the mountains in the background. When it comes to Virginia, there are no better mountain views than on the Blue Ridge Mountains.

If this is exactly what you are looking for, you are in luck! There are so many amazing Blue Ridge Mountain wedding venues that are either right on the mountain or that give you amazing views of the range for the perfect backdrop to say I do.

As a Virginia wedding photographer, I’ve had the chance to capture weddings at some many amazing venues around the mountains and there are definitely some that stand out from the crowd.

So, if you are looking for the perfect Blue Ridge Mountain wedding venue, check out a few of my top picks below!

Best Venues In and Around the Blue Ridge Mountains

Montfair Resort Farm

Montfair Resort Farm is a perfect choice for any couple looking for a year round venue. The climate controlled lodge is amazing all times of the year and during the warmer months, you can have your ceremony outdoors with the beautiful mountains behind you.

There are also accommodations at the resort so you and your guests can stay right at the property for an unforgettable wedding weekend.

If you and your partner want some more adventurous wedding photos, they also have hiking trails surrounding the property that you can explore to capture some truly one of a kind wedding photos!

Along with all of the tables, chairs, ceremony site, etc that comes with your rental, you’ll also get lawn games, Japanese lanterns, and you even get a lakeside bonfire in the evening!

Keswick Vineyards

Keswick Vineyards is a stunning wedding venue surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains. The venue is a completely outdoor venue and it makes you feel like you are in a world of your own for your wedding.

You’ll find getting ready suites for you and your partner to use to prep for your big day before walking down the aisle!

Your wedding is set right up against the beautiful vineyards with the mountain views in the distance. For your ceremony itself, it will take place right on their lawn with the vineyards at your back.

When it is time to start your reception, you can head into their beautiful sailcloth tent to celebrate with your friends and family. But don’t worry, there are fans and heaters so no matter the weather, you and your guests will be totally comfortable!

Boar’s Head Resort

Located around the Blue Ridge Mountains, Boar’s Head Resort is an amazing venue for a full scale weekend getaway wedding or a small elopement. Along with being a wedding venue, this is also a full-scale resort and most of their wedding packages even include complimentary rooms for you and your partner!

When it comes to your wedding, there are both indoor and outdoor ceremony and reception areas so you are able to really customize your wedding however you would like. They even have catering on site that makes planning your wedding a breeze.

If you are looking to plan a smaller mico-wedding or elopement, they also have specific packages just for you. You even get overnight accommodations included with these smaller packages as well making it the perfect getaway for you and your partner!

The Blue Ridge Parkway

If you really want to be immersed in the Blue Ridge Mountains, you can plan an elopement right on the Blue Ridge Parkway. This is the perfect option if you are looking to have an intimate wedding with just you and your partner or if you are only planning on having a handful of your closest friends and family come along.

There are so many great places along the parkway that you can choose from for your elopement. The one thing to keep in mind is that this is still a public area so other people may be around during your ceremony.

However, the views of the mountains from the parkway are hard to beat and if you want to plan something a bit smaller for this special day, this is definitely a unique way to do it!

Keep in mind that in order to have your ceremony along the Blue Ridge Parkway, you will need to get a permit. These are issued by the National Park Service and you have to apply for it at least 30 days in advance so be sure to not wait until the last minute to do it!

The Glass House Winery

The Glass House Winery is another vineyard that is right in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The views surrounding the property are stunning and only add to how amazing of a wedding venue this is.

Along with being a dog friendly wedding venue (because let’s be honest, who wants to leave their pup behind for such a big day), there are also things like the Glass House Lake and a conservatory on the property that add a unique touch and flair to this venue.

Indoor weddings here can accommodate up to 88 guests but they do have an adjoining outdoor terrace that you can also use that increase the number of guests to 130.

The winery even doubles as a bed and breakfast if you and your partner want to make a weekend out of your wedding and stay right on the property!

Wintergreen Resort

If you are truly looking for an all around wedding weekend experience in the mountains for you and your guests, the Wintergreen Resort is hands down your spot. They have accommodations for you and your guests that range from smaller 2-4 person guest rooms all the way up to 9 and 10 bedroom homes.

The resort also has so many activities to keep everyone occupied leading up to the wedding day like golf, tennis, ski slopes, hiking trails, an aquatic center, and so much more.

When it comes to your actual wedding, they have both indoor and outdoor options that can accommodate anywhere from 40 people to 600 so no matter the size of your wedding, they have you covered.

Not only can you say I do with the mountains as your backdrop, but you can also have an outdoor reception to soak up the unobstructed views all night long!

Hazy Mountain Vineyards & Brewery

From in-house chefs and planners to a European vibe to the entire venue, Hazy Mountain Vineyards & Brewery is a dream wedding venue. They have their “Something Borrowed” and “Something Blue” getting ready suites that you and your partner can use as you prepare to walk down the aisle.

For your ceremony, you can tie the knot on their courtyard with stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains behind you. They also have a Solarium that you can use for your cocktail hour to give you and your guests a bit more time enjoying the scenery before heading into the reception hall for the reception.

The venue can also host up to 200 guests so it is perfect for larger weddings. You can even stay at their villa on site that can host up to 14 people to really soak up the Italian vibes of the venue!

King Family Vineyards

King Family Vineyards is a dream come true when it comes to wedding venues. They have both indoor and outdoor options for your ceremony which is perfect for the colder months or if the weather doesn’t go your way on your wedding day.

The outdoor ceremony spot is definitely the highlight of the venue though. You’ll get to say I do with stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains behind. If you do need to have an indoor ceremony, their Carriage House will not disappoint and you’ll be able to tie the knot right in front of a beautiful stone fireplace.

This is also where you can have your reception and it is such a beautiful venue and truly is a blank space for you to transform (but definitely feels so magical with string lights strung up along the exposed wooden beams above!).

Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards

Finally, to round out some of the best Blue Ridge Mountain wedding venues, we have Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards. Not only do they have award-winning wines, but they also are a stunning and unforgettable place for your wedding.

They have an all-inclusive wedding package that covers everything from catering, venue spaces, decor, and more! They really make this a stress-free experience for you making sure all you have to worry about is enjoying your wedding day with your friends and family.

Plus, you just can’t beat the views of the mountains from the ceremony locations and from within the vineyards!
