The Wool Factory Wedding Between Hannah and Burton

July 7, 2023

Planning a wedding can be a bit overwhelming and one of the biggest tasks to check off of your to-do list is to find the perfect place to say “I do”. If you are looking in the Charlottesville area, The Wool Factory wedding venue should definitely be on your list.

Whether you are planning for a smaller, more intimate ceremony, or a grand event with hundreds of guests, your wedding will be nothing short of absolutely magical. With the perfect mix of history and modern touches, The Wool Factory is really a one-of-a-kind venue in the Charlottesville area.

Let’s take a look at why The Wool Factory wedding venue is so special and how Hannah and Burton transformed it into their dream wedding space.

A Quick Look Into The Wool Factory Wedding Venue

While The Wool Factory in Charlottesville is a beautiful wedding venue, it is also so much more. Here, you can also find the Broadcloth Restaurant, a world-class restaurant with mouthwatering food, The Workshop, where you can find coffee that was locally roasted, pastries, local wine, and Selvedge Brewing, a brewery and taproom with delicious bites and small-batch beers.

The original mill that sat on the site was founded all the way back in 1868. Most of the buildings on the site today, were built back in the 1920s and 30s. Although the mill closed its doors in the early 1960s, the history of The Wool Factory can still be felt throughout the venue today.

The property has a beautiful industrial vibe to it and the perfect mix of historical aspects while still having some more modern touches added in. I think one of my favorite things about The Wool Factory wedding venue is that each individual location at the property has its own vibe.

The Broadcloth Restaurant has a more moody and industrial feeling to it, but it also has a private dining room (perfect if you are only inviting a few friends/family members to your wedding) that is a bit more light and airy with plenty of natural light coming in through the windows.

The loft of The Workshop has beautiful wood floors and exposed brick along the walls with high ceilings that make the room feel massive.

Finally, the Main Hall is the best of the best. It has a heavy industrial vibe with concrete floors, exposed bricks, tall ceilings and expansive windows that let in a ton of natural light.

We can’t forget the outdoor ceremony space that offers the perfect outdoor ceremony location. Accommodating up to 250 guests, this space can not only fit all of your guests, but it also has beautiful views itself.

From the lawn, you get amazing views of The Wool Factory as well as the creek (Moore’s Creek) that runs along the side of the property. You can tie the knot in a beautiful outdoor ceremony and then dance the night away inside the dreamy factory itself.

Now, if all of this isn’t good enough for you, you will also get the added bonus of in-house catering for your wedding reception. The Wool Factory’s culinary team is headed up by Executive Chef Tucker Yoder. Each location you can book throughout the property has different food and beverage minimums, but I promise you will not be disappointed with the caliber of food that you and your guests will get!

A Magical Wedding at The Wool Factory

Still not convinced The Wool Factory wedding venue is right for you? Take a look at the beautiful wedding that Hannah and Burton had here!

Hannah and Burton

Hannah and Burton had their wedding at The Wool Factory in June of 2022. They were the first couple I ever photographed here and I instantly fell in love with the venue. They just celebrated their 1 year anniversary and I could not have been more honored to be able to capture the love that these two share during their special day!

About the Wedding

Since this was my first wedding at The Wool Factory, I was so excited that we were able to go around and explore so many of the different areas around the property. We went over to The Broadcloth Restaurant to take some of their couple’s portraits and it was stunning. It was the perfect space to take some more intimate pictures of them on their wedding day.

They opted for an indoor ceremony and were able to say “I do” in front of a beautiful, exposed brick wall with massive windows behind them that let in so much natural light. After tying the knot, everyone headed out to the courtyard for a cocktail hour and it was magical.

I love how open the courtyard is and they set it up to give people plenty of space to move around and mingle before we headed back inside for the wedding. Not only is the space itself beautiful, but there are also string lights hung up over the courtyard that add a magical feel to the area.

The good times kept rolling once we went back inside for the reception. They opted for longer tables for the reception instead of splitting people up into smaller groups to help encourage the togetherness of their event and their new, blended families. It led to a very lively and communal vibe that ensured everyone was having the best time of their lives.

One thing that I appreciated about their wedding was that everyone was there to PARTY. From the second the music started to the moment Hannah and Burton made their grand exit, the dance floor was absolutely packed. Hannah may or may have even ditched her heels for some Converse just so she could tear it up on the dance floor a bit more comfortably.

All-in-all, this was such a beautiful wedding and reception and they could not have asked for a more perfect venue to have it at. Hannah and Burton really embraced the industrial vibe of The Wool Factory and it fit them and their wedding perfectly.

They kept all of the decorations minimal and relied more on the natural beauty of the venue for the aesthetic and it created the dream backdrop for their wedding that they always imagined. Plus, because of them, I found a new venue in Charlottesville that I love and I am always so excited when I see another couple is considering The Wool Factory as their wedding venue.
