September 9, 2022

Your wedding day is one of the most special and magical days of your life and one you will never forget. Your wedding venue should be just as memorable. Virginia is a beautiful place to get married, and Richmond VA wedding venues are second to none.

Whether you are looking for an intimate venue for a smaller wedding or a grand wedding for you and your guests, Richmond has it all!

Here are my top picks for the best Richmond VA wedding venues.

Dover Hall

Dover Hall is the perfect venue for a wedding in Richmond. Situated on 55-acres of private land, the 38,000 square foot mansion creates the dream venue for you and your partner. Not only is the estate itself beautiful, but there is plenty of space for you and your guests throughout the day.

You and your partner can get ready with your wedding parties in both the Queen Elizabeth Suite and the Billiards Room. When it is time to say I do, you can choose from tons of different locations like the Reflecting Pool, Bluestone Terrace, Rose Garden, and more (including indoor locations). They can also accommodate anywhere from 50 guests to 400, so they are sure to have something that meets your needs!

During your cocktail hour, you and your guests can explore the estate and surrounding grounds as you begin the celebration of your and your partner. Once you are ready to start the reception, you can head into the Ballroom where you and your guests can eat, drink, and dance the night away. There is also an outdoor tent patio where you can have your reception instead!

Lily Black

Lily black is the perfect spot for an intimate wedding venue in Richmond. Located in Jackson Ward (otherwise known as Black Wall Street), this venue is unlike any other.

While it may be smaller than some of the other venues on this list, the architecture and vibe are second to none. The natural light and wood throughout the venue creates a warm environment for your perfect wedding.

The venue also includes beautiful wooden tables and chairs for your reception and a bar cart if you are looking to serve alcohol at your reception. This truly is a one-of-a-kind venue for your special day!

You will also be able to create a customized menu for your reception that is made by the restaurant at the Quirk. You can even book rooms at the hotel for you and your guests, so you do not even have to leave the hotel!

With so much to offer, it is clear to see why the Quirk Hotel is one of the top Richmond VA wedding venues.

Branch Museum of Architecture and Design

The Branch Museum of Architecture and Design is one of my favorite places and is in the beautiful museum district. I absolutely love the architecture of the museum itself, and the event spaces are just as beautiful!

Great Hall and Long Gallery offers a beautiful indoor space for a larger wedding that can accommodate 100 guests. The availability of this space can, however, be limited by the exhibits the museum has so be sure to check into that!
