Man oh man, do I love courthouse elopements.
Juliana and Cameron flew in from California for their elopement and so I could capture their courthouse wedding. They had a series of unfortunate events that led to the decision to elope and they just started searching for the prettiest courthouse areas they could. I guess when ya know, ya know!! We met up on a beautiful sunny morning around lunchtime and I got to capture their entire elopement process. From filling out the paperwork in the courthouse to saying “I Do” in the yard out front. And, then I obviously stole them for a few pictures downtown. How could I not with Juliana looking like a whole freakin’ snack in her dress/jacket/hat combo??? I can’t thank these two enough for trusting me to capture such a special day for them. It was so sweet and I loved getting to be a part of it!
We started off the morning by meeting up outside and going down to the basement! From there J+C filed the initial paperwork form their marriage license and meticulously checked it over. From there they were sworn in and were allowed to go upstairs to the courtroom for the legal proceeding and paperwork signing!
Afterwards we went outside with the sheriff for the official ceremony under one of the most beautiful trees that let the light just gleam right onto them. They had a beautiful ceremony in the courtyard and sealed it with a kiss!!
And after that they were officially married! Before we parted ways we spent about 30 minutes wandering downtown Charlottesville together and capturing some portraits to help commemorate the special day. Courthouse elopements are truly so special and intimate and I have a love for them!
