The sweetest surprise proposal you’ll ever see!
I can honestly say from the moment that Kaylee contacted me I knew this session was going to be amazing. She told me that she knew she was ready to propose to her girlfriend, Katie, and that she wanted someone there to capture the surprise proposal. After our initial chat getting to learn about them, figuring out initial plans, and overall hyping up the big day… I realized we still had about 2 months to wait! It was a long wait for me, so I can only imagine how Kaylee was feeling while still in school AND working. Their anniversary weekend was the perfect time and we decided to disguise their surprise proposal as an anniversary present in the form of photos. Katie had been wanting nice photos of the two of them so this was the perfect time! Market Square was somewhere incredibly special to these two, so it was clear that this was the spot that Kaylee would propose at. We made our game plan and decided on a certain pose that would be the signal for Kaylee to pop the big question. I had brought Joel along with me to assist and hold on to the ring leading up to the end of our session. When the time came Joel did a quick slight of hand and I did the count down. Watching Katie’s reaction as she turned around to her best friend down on one knee was tear-jerking. We were able to end their “anniversary photos” with lots of laughs, love, and tears all around.

Oh man, I can’t tell you all how lucky I feel to have to captured this huge moment. You two are like old friends at this point and I am not kidding when I tell you I was crying during your proposal. It was so fun getting to learn about your love story and watch your chemistry unfold in real time. Kaylee told me so much before-hand, but I don’t think any words could prepare me for the rush of emotions your session would bring. I get to see couples in love almost every day, but something about the way you two are so unapologetically yourselves and in love really tells me you have both found your person. Thank you all a million times (even though you didn’t have much of a choice, Katie) for letting me and Joel take a peek at such an intimate and important moment.
