It’s really easy to slip into a mindset of photography being my “job” and not the fun creative outlet it was when I first started. However, capturing sweet couples like Ashley and Geoffroy really make me fall in love with photography all over again. One of my mentors, Sarah, recently sent me a message about her “why” for photography. And it’s the little moments that make everything so worthwhile. Seeing the light in a couple’s eyes when they recall their first date, or culling through a gallery immediately after a shoot because you couldn’t wait to see all of the gems from an awesome session, or receiving a handwritten Christmas card with my images on the front… it all makes me feel so warm and fuzzy and looking back through this session really made those feelings jump out and create a fun spark for everything that 2021 has in store.
Ashley + Geoffroy,
Your love story is so incredible. I loved hearing about your world travels and all of the things you have done to make your relationship work. I’m sure that coming from two different countries and making the decision to live together amidst a global pandemic is absolutely insane, but you made it sound like just another day. I felt so lucky to take these photos and watch the little laughs and looks you would sneak when no one was watching. Although, we were in a very crowded town center you looked and talked to each other as if you were the only people in the world. So many folks spend their lives searching for the love that you have, and I am so honored to have been able to witness it.
All the love (from your xister),
