For those of you that didn’t know I grew up in a small town about an hour outside of Northern Virginia and D.C.
Karinsa reached out to me asking about a family session. She said that she was visiting her family all the way from Utah. Her dad’s job had relocated them to Northern Virginia and they had moved into the teeny tiny town of Front Royal. I was really excited to hear this because I have a LOT of family from Front Royal and knew just the spot. After a bit of convincing to her family that they definitely shouldn’t go to the local chain store for studio pictures we set up a date and place. I was so excited to head back home and take photos at Blandy Experimental Farm. I was a little nervous that everything would be dead because it’s getting pretty late in the year. But, the trees did NOT disappoint. The sunset was amazing, there were empty wide open fields of grass, and the Gingko trees were still highlighter yellow. It made me feel like this was meant for us!
You have such a beautiful family. You all are some of the nicest folks I’ve had the pleasure of photographing in my career. It is so obvious how deep your love and care for one another is. I loved getting to watch your chemistry and the laughs, love, and hugs come out naturally. Your kindness is truly unmatched and I wish you the best! You made this session a piece of cake and so much fun. Going through these photos was such a challenge because I simply have too many favorites. Thank you for trusting me to take these photos and provide you all with memories for years to come. I hope you had a very safe trip back home and that our paths will cross again in the future. Until then… cheers to being the coolest family around.
